Is a project where research on anatomy, body chemistry and energy healing is transformed into pop songs.
An attempt to merge the disparate disciplines of sonic industry and medical health.
An experiment to infuse the music genre with holistic data sharing ideals.
Creating a pop album of medical facts, vitamin rhymes and anatomy lessons. Imagining how a medical dissertation could turn into a dance track.
How grammatical conjugations would become a singing gong meditation.
The project is comprised of five songs that fantasise on educational lyrics Laurie Anderson never wrote, Robert Ashley could have recited and Nene Cherry should have sang.
The album is done in collaboration with composer Yiannis Loukos and post produced by Giorgos Lemos.
Vinyl LP, 47 minutes long.
~BONE BALLAD: Is looking for Latin and Greek words in an anatomical journey inside the body. It is a homage to the musical style of Robert Ashley, his mundane speech and avant-garde experimental electronic theatre.
~FIGHT THE VIRUS : Is all about viruses and their mental implications. Initiated by health “guru” Anthony William’s analysis on the most common viruses existing in humans today. Research on hormones and neurotransmitters aims to connect those viruses with complications of the autonomic nervous system and mental imbalances. Avant-pop is the music genre to define this song.
~ALPHA TO OMEGA: Is a rhythmical catalogue of health supplements inspired by the first and last letter of the Greek alphabet. Lists of amino acids, minerals, fatty chain acids and vitamins sound like an 80’s beatbox rap battle.
~ENERGY : Is searching for universal consciousness through the work of Joe Dispenza. Promoting a model of an interactive immaterial cosmos of constant and measurable energy transference. Giving our minds and bodies an agency and a place in the ontology of the universe. Here, Yiannis composes a mix of disco influences while I invite listeners to close their eyes, tune in to the energy of the Unified Field and move along with it.
~TENSION IN THE TENSES: Is dedicated to my installation/performance work, Tension in the Tenses. Conjugations of the verb To BE sing a grammatical mantra of emancipation. While the song longs to become an ambient post-rock promotion of an art-work.
